  • Special Update
The COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic is rapidly changing the way that we think, act, gather, learn and live our daily lives. Yes, that also means how we play horseshoes. With the most recent declaration from the Colorado Department of Health, effect immediately, no person shall organize or stage events or gathering of 10 or more participants. The Colorado Horseshoe Pitchers Association has cancelled all tournaments through April 19. We will continue to monitor this situation and keep you informed. Please stay in touch by visiting the CHPA website for updates. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call or email me.

Thank you all for your support and understanding,

    Vicki Barham, President

Did You Know . . . ?

  • 30 foot pitchers foot foul
Foul - (Foot Foul) This occurs when a pitcher steps on or over the foul line, or starts or steps completely outside of the pitching platform area, before the shoe is released. The penalty is to declare the shoe a foul shoe. (See pages 13, Rule 5, Section B, 1 a.b)

The pitching platform area also has side boundaries. Stepping toward the middle of the courts before releasing the shoe is a foul shoe pitched. It would be the same as a 40 foot pitcher stepping into the clay before releasing the shoe.
